However, there is one stock market holiday on the horizon. The stock market will be closed for New Year’s. That means traders can kick off 2025 with midnight parties and no worries about waking up early the next day, but until then, there’s work to be done.
What to Watch Before the Year Ends?
The S&P 500 (SPX) and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) will be worth watching tomorrow as traders can evaluate the two indexes with the year complete. Right now, both are looking to complete 2024 with gains. That’s despite poor movement from both of them this month following the December Federal Reserve meeting.

Additionally, there are three days in 2025 when the stock market will close early. They are July 3, Nov. 28, and Dec. 24. These early closings are tied to Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
